Never was that interested in their “gotta find a mark” story. Not as cute as the fans make them out to be. Never really liked their voices. For Scootaloo, her obsession over RD, and the the fact that she might be a cripple/orphan to be kinda clichéd. For Applebloom, find her to be kinda bland. Sweeties alright I guess.

its odd, I like Flash Sentry and DT and SS, and the majority of the fandom find them (except for DT and maybe SS after crusader of the lost mark) to be bland, but the majority of the fandom like the cmc for their characters, yet I find their characters bland.
Also, come to think of it, Dinky and Ruby pinch are bland too, and I like them.

That is one side of her I do not feel comfortable with. The “I know what’s good for you” type of nanny attitude that I find to be a serious plague in humanity’s mindset. However, Rarity usually backs down if or when somepony/one tells her to off.

having knowledge on the subject should be taken into consideration thoughand i would say that having enough knowledge of something to make a living from it/gain a decent amount of fame for it is enough to make someone an authority on the subjectI think he meant that Rarity was less “let me show tips on how to…” and more like “your wardrobe is sht let me dress you up in what I think looks good on you”.

I never HATED Flash neither. Silver Spoon I felt there’s was more to her. I couldn’t stand Tiara for the longest though. It just felt with the exception of Ponyville Confidential, her character (prior to COTLM) was just the typical rich bully sterotype that I’ve seen in many forms of media.

Yeah, I mean sure, Flash isn’t the most developed character, but i like him. I also like Silver, but was never a big fan of her just being forced to bully others just because diamond said so. You all know my stance on DT so ill spare you the details.

I don’t get why everyone hates Flash. Flash is an essential animation tool and is the main one used to create MLP and it deserves our respect! So what if it’s also used by the creators of Johnny Test?

If you don’t like the way it looks, that’s you’re problem, not mine. I can’t stand it when people think they know what’s good for me.

I wouldn’t call Dash “abrasive” most of the time. In her best episodes, she’s downright gleefully affectionate. She has a touch of cynicism to her, but I think that’s something the show really needs to a degree.
To be fair to Rarity, I think a lot of what she does is based around trying to help someone else find a style that they do think looks good on them. She clearly values customer input in creating fashions.

I dunno, an argument could be made for Dash being above and beyond the standard Abrasive Jock character template with her egghead fondness for adventure stories and love of Tank

I also question some of her standards; some of her ideas are just overly pedantic. I don’t care if you think color A doesn’t go with color B, if I like the combination, I’ll damn well wear it. Of course, it’s just a cartoon and I know it’s done just for humor, I’m not trying to take it too seriously, but it’s still something that turns me off to her.

Some people see her as some kind of “Fashion Nazi”, I can understand why. However, Rarity’s character is quite deep compared to most other characters in most media of her archetype. Annoying at times, skewed priorities, but not one-sided obnoxious most of the time. But what sets her aside from many of those negative stereotypes of her archetype is that she is notably selfless, supportive, and hardworking.
