Has max file size been (slightly) increased?

It’s been my understanding that the max file size upload is about 25 mb,  
but I just noticed that this upload is 27.24 MB (27891 kb):
 

 
Is this a random fluke, or would I be able to upload a 27mb file now?  
Mostly asking cause I’m in the process of juggling quality:size ratio on some animated gifs.
 
I might end up using webm format instead for much smaller file sizes, but still curious about the current max.

More likely, the optimizer broke and made a bigger file

Okay, that makes sense. I decided to use smaller webm format anyway. Thanks for checking it out.
