Once you have to make up some complicated explanation for something without evidence, that is when you look back at everything and just use Occam’s razor, otherwise it is all ‘ifs’ and ‘maybe’s’. The simplest explanation, and most likely to be correct, is the animation team made a decision that doesn’t logically make sense in regards to canon, but they liked how it looked. Like they do all the time. Still, funny explanation.

She’s also implied to be a year older (at least of Pinkie).
Her eyes tell that she is indeed a little bit older.
Also, the first beady-eyed foal was long before the Cake twins, Cream Puff from “The Mysterious Mare Do Well.”
