I don’t think he was aware that Pinkie was also in on the secret. Rather, I think he was having his own problems with keeping the news about Cadence’s pregnancy a secret (which, in turn, was affecting Pinkie’s own problem about keeping quiet).

tbh i was kinda expecting the mane 6 to tell shining armor and cadance that pinkie herself was pregnant before the actual announcement was made. it raised some very interesting questions in my mind regarding what exactly would happen if one of the mane 6 actually did get pregnant at some point. now THAT would be a fan meltdown…
