RARITY: NOBODY MESSES WITH MY SISTER!
Well, yeah, that’s what I’m saying. The question is why she prefers not to.
@ghostfacekiller39
While her magic might not be particularly strong, I get the impression she would excel in situations requiring precision rather than power. Her job probably involves a lot of little details that require very precise needlework, after all.
She prefers not to use magic.
I always kind of theorized that she took self-defense classes at some point or another so she could protect herself in the event of getting mugged or some other random criminal encounter. I’d say she has a significantly higher chance of such than the average pony due to looks, demeanor, and her ability to standout in a crowd. She recognized as much and did something about it.
I also kind of feel that her combat magic would be weak, as would be the case with most unicorns. Magic is generally related back to special talents and telekinesis in a general sense, with a few exceptions. The fact that she could shoot laserbeams from her horn in her dream sequence in Magic Sheep was something that legitimately surprised me, as I never figured her the type to want to learn combat magic - especially because she’s already been shown to be so formidable with her hooves.
What gets me is that Rarity is a unicorn, but she generally fights with her hooves rather than her horn. Is she stronger than the average unicorn, is she not great with combat magic, or does she just find it more satisfying when she can feel her blows connect?
it’s almost like you’re entirely and completely wrong
