Artist’s Note:
IT FINALLY FUCKING HAPPENED!!!! After 5 years of waiting, the CMC finally got their marks!!AND, they became friends with Diamond Tiara!! Which is even better!! I loved the episode, and I’ve watched it so many times. The music was great, and the cutie marks are fantastic, and totally worth waiting for.Anyways, tell me what you think!
I like ‘em all, but after all the times the Mane 6 saved Equestria, the CMC overdo for their own major heroic moment.
It’d be a nice twist.
As for Tiara, I kinda hope they further develop her heel-face-turn if she ever gets any future minor roles.
You have no idea how much I would love to see that happen considering I prefer the Cutie Mark Crusaders over the Mane 6, but I doubt that it ever will.
I didn’t say you were, just addressing those who do fear altering the status quo.
Personally, I’d like to see the CMC get to defeat a villain/final boss of a season, or EqG movie some day.
I didn’t mean to imply that their characters would change dramatically or anything like that. There is the potential for the writers to incorporate the Cutie Mark Crusaders into more meaningful roles in Equestria now that they have a shared destiny, though.
Perhaps, though, I’m sure they’ll still be the same CMC, just a bit more competent now, and perhaps have more adventures helping other ponies like Tiara or Trouble Shoes.
That shot with the CMC’s cutie marks surrounded by those of the Mane 6 did seem to be symbolic of them moving up in the show. I think that Cutie Mark Crusaders will play a bigger role in the show now that they have a destiny relating to something as important as cutie marks.
Indeed, they’re growing up, and coming into their own. That one shot of their cutie marks alongside the mane 6 seems to imply they’re finally equal with them.
I couldn’t have put that any better than you did. It is of my headcanon for now that the heart contained within the apple of Apple Bloom’s cutie mark has something to do with how much she cares for others. The CMC started out as your typical children that get into all kinds of trouble back in season 1 and now here we are coming up on season 6 and they have matured so much since then.
It kinda also helps show how much they’ve grown up sense the first season. Tiara used to be their “worst enemy/bully,” but as time went on, her insults barely phased ‘em, and she became just a minor annoyance to them at most later. When Tiara became horrified of not getting a single vote, and even her only friend turning on her, most would’ve enjoyed their worst bully getting what they deserved, but as AB put it, “Just ‘cause she doesn’t care about others’ feelings, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t care about her’s.”
By showing her empathy, they/we learned deep down Tiara was a lonely little girl, with self doubts, and issues hiding behind her smugness with the potential to become good.
The CMC overlooking all the wrongs she gave them, to help, and even wanting to befriend her really show the power of friendship. (Despite how cheesy that sounds, a li’l kindness can make all the difference.)
Indeed. We should keep in mind that Apple Bloom was the one to suggest checking on Diamond Tiara.
I love the irony, that the pony who was the meanest to them was the one they needed to help most, and is what helped them realize their “true special talent.” They really earned those marks by doing that. Helping/forgiving an “enemy” isn’t something many people/kids are willing to do. We could learn something from the CMC.
