Yeah what probably happened is they got into their costumes, blew up those inflatable pumpkins they’re sitting on, and sat down on it. Originally the pumpkins were going to be one of those inflatable sofas you see everyone using when they camp places, but I figured pumpkins would suit the Halloween theme better so I asked for that instead.
 
Maybe I’ll request a “getting ready” picture where they get into their costumes and blow up the pumpkins (or sofa/couch). Or maybe I’ll ask Rainbow Dash or Rarity as a referee for a boxing match or something.

If I asked the artist to add sweat maybe it would look a little easier to tell, but Rarity’s Probst disinterested because she’s used to attention whereas in some cases outside of Scootaloo, Rainbow Dash isn’t nearly as used to it.
 
I wanted to ask for Applejack or Fluttershy to be in this picture too but I wanted this to be done by Halloween, since Kenny uploads during Fridays and I didn’t want to make it too hard for him.

The cheeks don’t seem nearly puffy enough to warrant the idea of lots of blood getting to their cheeks as a result of excessive blowing of the whistles.
 
As for them being embarrassed, I guess I can see that, though their eyes really DO seem to change how this looks; Rarity looks disinterested, and Rainbow Dash seems to just “notice someone, with indifference”. It’s an extremely attractive image, don’t get me wrong; your attention to background detail is STAGGERINGLY good, but their faces don’t seem to reflect as much embarrassment as they probably could with “looking down and away, reflective body language, etc.”.

Also they are sitting on those giant inflatable pumpkin decorations you see in some stores around Halloween.

I think it’s mainly their eyes. Rarity looks not as interested as she was in the last picture. And they’re supposed to be blowing hard on the whistles. The blushing is really because they’re showing their butts, they’re embarrassed and they have red faces and puffy cheeks which comes from blowing a whistle or balloon too hard.

The blushing looks so weird with the whistles in their mouths… it’s like they’re just casually blowing on the whistles with no actual stress or strain to themselves.
