Could be worse. You could lead gamers on for two years with a broken but awesome game that also features a variety of different additional weapons and attachments they can buy. Then make all that time and money a total waste by breaking your promise of never adding microtransactions to the game and destroying your weapon balance.

What if someone made a game where they only blocked off 3 to 5 characters in a game with 40+ characters though?  
I’m not saying that it hasn’t been done terribly already, but I’m not sure the concept can’t be used in a tolerable way. Even it hasn’t been used in such a way yet.

Yes, it is bad. SF X Tekken was the worst, as an entire third of the cast was in the game fully finished on release. Just locked behind paywall bullshit. It proves that they arent working after the game release for things, just specifically making things to gouge money out of players later.

Honestly I’m not sure if on disk DLC is really that bad at least when it comes to fighting game characters.  
Maybe lower prices would help though?
