Why not just make them the same races as their counterparts?
I’d agree, but what would their pony forms be? I tweeted Rebecca Dart and she said the never decided on the pony forms (except for Indigo Zap, who’s a Pegasus) So unless the head of design was kept completely in the dark about this, I don’t think we’ll see the Pony!Shadowbolts for a while.

In fact…if I recall correctly, one of the rumors surrounding the season finale is that Starlight’s time travel shenanigans leads to the creation of an alternative set of bearers of the elements. Maybe it would wind up being these gals?
