It’s not really their fault. Spike has no CHARACTER, and nobody is willing to rock the boat enough to give him one.
-Lumino

Spike was wildly impulsive, but severely held back by his lack of social skills and self-doubt typical of a shut-in. He was very childish, ready to let his fears and wants run rampant at every opportunity, as small children growing in a loving environment are wont to do. He was an archetypical little boy with equal measure of kind heart and all seven sins serving as a counter-point to more grown-up and very feminine main cast.

In Season 1.

Presumably Lauren forgot to write any of this down, because it would never be seen again.

It is their fault because non of them have los cojones to spend time actually thinking of some good character development for him, so they make new writers write mediocre episodes for him instead.

That is in part because nearly every Spike episode is bad, and none of them are good, at least from what I’ve seen (everything not S3 and S4). I wouldn’t really call it an inconsistency to complain abut the other thing, dumb as that complaint usually is, but still think that his episodes suck.

Also, the complaining about the “Spike Justice Warrior” thing is reminding me a lot of when I see people complaining about bronies preemptively and unnecessarily; try not to be them.

They taught their children, and their children’s children, and so on. It’s very sad. But, this is how long lasting hate between two different kinds of people happens. It gets passed down for generations.

What I really want to know, from Fluttershy’s explanation, how did two whole communities got developed by two Ponies who disagreed with each other?

Thanks, now I cant stop watching how beautifully animated Twilight is!

That’s exactly what I was afraid of when I saw how many comments this image had gotten; instead, it’s just minor metadrama sparked by you two assuming people were going to overreact. Sheesh.

Eh, the anti-SkJW crowd has a long way to go before they get that annoying.

@Background Pony #C6BB
Yeah, this is the kind of comment I was hoping for.

This is kind of cute, actually. When the books lift Spike doesn’t even notice them at first. He’s just lying there, smiling, enjoying his ponified Archie and jughead comic, and then suddenly is notices the books were lifted off as they get lowered back down.

It makes me wonder if, living with Twilight, he’s used to burrowing into a pile of books like that. Heck, for him it’s probably like a blanket fort or something.
