They do have a sun based counterpart. Celestia employs plenty of them as royal guards.
They’re called Pegasi.

Random thought: if bat ponies are a thing…do they have a sun based counterpart? Seems like if Luna gets a race of pay dedicated solely to her celestia should have one as well. Nothing really to do with the pic just a thought.

Also the first time we’ve seen a female guard.

I checked the episode & Rainbow Dash is indeed the only guard who has regular untufted ears.  
The others are probably another race or something even if you argue against them being bat ponies.
