@soundtea
and yet despite this devestation, it seems like the EVerfree still stands. so even in this dead world, there is hope for life, contained in the eldritch forest.
@Psycho Shy
Actually just took a look at a screencap from S4E26.
From what I can see Cloudsdale is gone completely, Canterlot’s location has no rainbow pouring out of it. Landmass with trees to the Southwest is barren, as well as the lush looking trees to the south of the center.
Wait, isn’t Cloudsdale still standing? Or, floating, as it were. And it would seem that whatever happened was confined to Equestria, as you can see Griffinstone still there across the sea.
That looks like a Nuke hit Equestria…
Or it suffered a Combine invasion with no Gordon Freeman to save them (That’s my theory)…
God, the mere existence of the Ashlands Timeline is dark as hell.
I was thinking some villain along the lines of Lavos… but Midnight Sparkle would actually fit that role pretty well.
This image is a bit bigger and screencapped from Youtube at 1080p. Hope it helps.

And if it’s not Ahuizotl, it’s either Midnight Sparkle or the Tantabus!
Those look more like craggy old caves in mountains than Griffonstone, I’d need a comparison shot to really get it.
