Also it seems that most of the Starcade episodes were not even written by him, he was just an actor for Star Wars plugs. I don’t blame him, he must have made bank with those deals, but it’s still a little disheartening.
Starcade was a sponsored series, he was hired to produce the videos by Disney, presumably through his contract with Maker (owned by the big bad mouse). So contrary to his usual videos, those were commissioned jobs, and I’m guessing that he did not have the same freedom as usual. Thus, the sub-par quality of the videos overall. Culminating with the Battlefront literal advertisement.
Starcade was worse, I agree with you there, but I don’t think that was due to any kind of sponsorship; I am not certain as to why they were generally worse (less interesting choice of games?). That Battlefront ad, on the other hand, was terrible…

No but seriously the fact that he’s using the money to improve his show is pretty great, I just hope he doesn’t take a sponsor deal too soon: those star wars video were not his best, and that’s being kind.
Pretty much the same life story for most other Youtubers.
And to think it all started with just him sitting at a desk talking about games and the occasional movie and now look at him.
