We’ve had it with you trendy bashers too. :P

And now that I’ve seen it, honestly I didn’t think “Pixels” was that bad. It’s no award-winner, or anything, but I enjoyed it, and it’s homages to old-school gaming/nerd culture. Plus Q*Bert was kinda adorable.

Nostalgia Critic is based on his opinion of it but played up for entertainment, and not trying to be 100% right with it’s facts all the time but also not to be misinformed, hyperbole is the name of the game there.
Doug(the Critic) and his brother Rob have for some time being doing a show with what they really think of things and a lot of time it’s shortly after the Nostalgia Critic episode on the same thing.
And if it’s one they are really split on they talk of it on another show called Sibling Rivalry.
But in their serious reviews they give the real facts and what they think of a movie/show and explain why they think that.

I guess I’m just not so into the internet critic/comedy troupe on TheGuyWithGlasses.com as everyone else is.

And honestly, I didn’t know about his other series, nor really care for it honestly. Though, I will admit some of his top-10 lists, (such as “the Top 10 Naughtiest Moments on Animaniacs”) were amusing.

>thinking Nostalgia Critic is Doug’s(and Rob’s) real thoughts on somthing and are trying to get fact right
>knowing they have a series called “Nostalgia Critic Real Thoughts On” where they do talk of the facts and what they really think

HAHAHAHAHA!!!
Oh, good joke Beau.

Regardless, I’d rather see it for myself, rather then listen to popular/overrated internet critics frankly.
Heck, Roger Ebert a famed movie critic loved “Being John Malcovich,” and hated “Tommy Boy,” and frankly I feel the complete opposite about both movies that he does.

Also, the Nostalia Critic and stuff don’t always have the facts, just “opinions.” In fact, Doug/Nostalgia Critic got a lot of things wrong in his “Super Mario Super Show” review (basically just constantly bashing it, except for the Zelda cartoon it had surprisingly) like his claim that the show had no backstory was false. (As Mario begins every episode’s narration explaining why they’re in different worlds, to find somebody/something that can help them free the mushroom Kingdom from King Koopa’s grasp.) He also complained about Bowser being called “Koopa,” not knowing that Bowser is called that in Japan, so he was sometimes called that in the old merch’ to.

He also ironically bashed DiC Entertainment,” the company who made said show calling it “The appropriately named ’Dick Entertainment, which is ironic ’cause he loved the “Real Ghostbusters,” and “Sonic SatA.M.” shows they made, and such.

So he & other internet “critics” are quite ignorant on some things, I feel, and just exaggerate how “bad” some things are for comedy.

There where a lot of logic and fact fails and even them changing things they had already set up beforehand just because so they have a more of a conflict.
It’s not as bad has some critics make it out to be but it really take the enjoyment away for me.
Look at the “Nostalgia Critic Real Thoughts On: Pixels” video and you will see Rob says right at the start that he doesn’t like it but thinks other are over blowing how bad it is, he sees it as mostly nothing.
Feeling like Sandler is barley there for not being charming, funny, annoying or anything really.
A number of setups for jokes with no payoffs.
Action scenes not making sense for one reason or another.

I haven’t seen it yet, but I’ve seen a few so-called “internet critics” hating on it for the sole reason that “it’s an Adam Sandler movie” and no other reason really. One of ‘em on Youtube stated they hated the movie & Adam Sandler so much it made them hate their favorite games that were featured in the movie.
(I don’t know why, but that seems much sadder to me, then even Adam Sandler’s bad movies… That’s like those haters who said they no longer liked their favorite game/show, because somebody drew a MLP crossover version of it.)

Still, I’d like to see it, as I like the special effects for it, and the original, animated short that inspired the movie. It doesn’t look “amazing,” but it should be worth a shot for a few short chuckles, and a bit of old-school game nostalgia.

Pac Man’s original creator was even cool with being parodied in it. So at least he’s a good sport.

Yeah, a few jokes were a bit cringey, but honestly I miss seeing 2D-animated movies like that, and like I said you never see PG-13 ones, which made it kinda unique. It was basically an animated Adam Sandler movie, which is why I enjoyed it, despite it’s flaws.

@newsketches
Yeah, “Click” was pretty good, (especially for the wonderfully quirky actor Christopher Walken) though it reminded me a li’l of “Bruce Almighty.”

I only saw the beginning of that, but yeah it wasn’t bad. Adam Sandler said he wanted that one to be “cleaner,” so his kids could watch it. He should perhaps try doing cleaner movies on occasion.

Some like “That’s My Boy” went kinda overkill on the vulgarity.

I don’t know, I felt he had some likeable aspects, but to each their own, and I understand your critiques a li’l. I’m not saying the movie was “perfect,” when I said I enjoyed it, I just don’t hate it like most did.

I do notice a recent trend where people/critics bash every Adam Sandler movie. I admit some recent ones are a bit painful to watch, (like “Zohan,” and “That’s My Boy”) but I still like some of his movies, especially his older ones despite a few cringe-y jokes. I think he gets a bit dumped on to much in the media honestly.
(Same for Pauly Shore, I loved “Encino Man” when I was little.)

Of course, that doesn’t mean I don’t love every Adam Sandler-type of movie, as I found some who tried to imitate his humor a bit annoying.

Still, I see it as a bad movie as it didn’t really try to make one character that was meant for us to see as likable the butt of jokes and to be laughed at then basically turn around and do a “shame on you for not seeing how good he is and laughing at him”.
If they tried to make Whitey likable and not annoying then I would see it as an okay move.

I suppose it depends on how you interpretate it, but I kinda see your point. Still, it all worked out in the end, and I liked how Adam Sandler’s main character (the one that looked like him Davey) started off as an A-hole, and became nicer over the course of the movie, and even grew to befriend Whitey.

My problem with the movie, and with anyone that knows what really makes it bad, and it’s why I pointed out Whitey as well, is that it;s making everyone a jackass to the guy when also trying to make him into somthing to be laughed at.
The move has it’‘s movements but over all it’s bad for trying to put in a massage of recognizing people that try to hel[p others out of the goodness of there heart buy to also point and laugh at the same one with “look how gross/annoying he is”.
