You can only have one companion from the animal friend perk at a time anyway. If you try to get another one, the previously gained ‘friend’ turns hostile again. I’ve tested this on some random molerats wandering in a field.
Naah, unfortunately in Fallout you can only have two companions. Unless it has changed for Fallout 4, the only way to have a veritable army is mods. Or console commands; spawn a few dozens of mole-rats while you have animal friend rank 2, then sit back and enjoy watching them devour your enemies.
