Sure, it must be bait. After all if Tirek did the same with Celestia after his defeat. it would be completely obvious that they’re in love. Everything else before the flower scene must have been just a lover’s quarrel. Also the fact that the writer herself cleared all ambiguity about the meaning of this scene act as an additional bait.
 
 
This scene wasn’t a Lyra/BonBon “maybe they’re lovers maybe just friends” or Marble/BicMac “maybe they’re blushing out of shyness or maybe out of attraction” kind of teasing. It had a clear purpose and reasoning behind it. Every person who wasn’t already a dislestia shipper could also see it without Meghan McCarty exlplaining it up for them.

If someone seen it as a sign of flirting, then they are fans of an abusive relationships between an oppressor and his victim. This scene could only have one meaning-apology so he woudn’t end up in stone. Any other interpretation would just ruin Celestia completely, not to mention the logic of the story and it’s continuity (if they are this close then why are they so distant in the next episode with Smooze and why Discord doesn’t even consider asking her for tickets)

That could have very well been just a gesture of apology, and that’s the generally accepted interpretation I’m sure, but I think it would be somewhat blind to not see the ambiguity of it, however unintended it was.

Implying it was a sign of attraction and not an obvious gesture of apology since he literally send her and her sister straight to hell. Also the other bouquet was Luna’s. I gues he now date both of them? Nevermid, I’m done with shippers logic.

Yep, never shown any interest in her at all

The only mares Discord cares about is Fluttershy and Twilight. That’s literally it. Since RoH until now, his episodes orbit around one of those two characters. I have no idea where Celestia even come to the picture, especially since Discord shown nothing but ill intents toward her in the show, comics and books.
 
But i guess i should not question shippings. After all SpiderMan/Twilight is still popular and no one seem to be bothered by it at all.
