I feel bad for her. He might be the only pony she’s ever met that she can relate to. Someone who doesn’t pressure her to talk, or treat her differently because she’s so quiet.
 
Or maybe she’s got low self esteem, and doesn’t think he could ever be interested in a sad, silent, and lonely mare like herself.
 
Either way, really sad.
