THUD THUD THUD went the creature’s tail as you scratched her cheek. You had been somewhat unsure of these three creatures but had let them in on a whim, and while two of them were content to just keep to themselves the blue one seemed quite friendly. She had plopped her head in your lap like a big dog, wagging her big tail happily as you stroked the base of her cheek fins and scratched behind her ears.

“Sonata! Stop that!” snapped the yellow one from one side of the room, “You’re a monster that almost conquered Equestria, not a dog!”

“What, what?!” you said in fear, wrenching your hand away and prompting the yellow one to abruptly slap a hoof over her mouth.

“But it feels good, Adagio!” whined ‘Sonata’. She quickly nestled her cheek into your hand. “Come on, don’t stop! Don’t listen to her! She’s crazy! We’re just big cuddly seahorses and totally not some of the most dangerous foes ever faced by Equestria! Right Aria?”

‘Aria’ was too busy noisily enjoying the food you had given her. “Yeah, totally,” she said amid loud chomps with complete disinterest, “Cuddles and stuff.”

“See?” said Sonata gleefully.

“You’re sure?” you said fearfully as you began to scratch her cheek once more.

“Uh-huh,” she said as her big tail began to wag once more, “Oh yeah little to the left little to the left right there… ahhhh I miss having fingers so much…”

You just shrugged and kept scratching. Nothing these creatures said made any sense, to the point that they seemed out of their minds, but from what you could tell they were apparently harmless.
