Cool story bro.
In my own personal defense, I don’t use the word “Brony” for myself as a hugbox wah wah story. I use it because I’m part of a fandom that I’m proud in. A fandom is what many should view as a community of people, not people spreading their own personal agenda and using a show that they say “ITZ 4 USZZZ!” coughfeminism Personally, I cringe at people using official characters for their own agenda than the weridness and awardness of some people that make spaghetti of themselves really.

Technically, 30+. Because Bonnie Zacherle really wanted the toy brand to be neutral for all ages. But due to past marketing decisions by Hasbro in the 80’s, they made it separate to ponies, and transformers for boys. Which, I’ll admit, was sexist (…not a feminist btw…) but that was the past, and this is the present. We can’t change it really. Not many of us knew that ponies will be hot fucking selling before the show started. And by little by little, Hasbro was starting to sell shirts for both boys and girls in Hot Topic, to slowly depend licensing brands to do their work, and now they got it right with Guardians of Harmony; which was every fans’ and bronies dream from 2011-2012. So I say, with struggling evolution, it was worth the 6 years of wait.
“far more reasonable and educated fans like myself”
Never a comment encompassed so well “arrogant hipster”
No, Princess Molly, it has only begun.
A boy is in an MLP ad.
THE END IS HERE!!!!
Eh, to me those are more spin offs and complimentary products and not so much main series figures.
Cheese sandwich getting his own toy?
He’s already had Funko full size and Mystery Mini figures, as well as two different blind bag figures.
Yes we are, Flurries of Dancing Flames! Got it memorized?!
Okay that was terrible somebody punch me in the face please….
I’m sorry what was that? Cheese sandwich getting his own toy?
I don’t know how to feel about that XD
If you go by the technical definition of furries, fans of anthropormophized animals, bronies are furries (as would be fans of most animated shows that involve talking creatures), but in the larger picture, there’s so many levels of what a furry can be that there’s a distinct enough difference.
This is great for two reasons: it’s acknowledging that girls love awesome adventure & action stuff too, and that it’s alright for boys to play with these as well. This makes me happy!
Wing Extenders
If you look closely, you can see her hind hooves are plugged into a sort of booster pack, like the Dendrobium Orchis from Gundam 0083.
furries are superset of bronies
There’s obviously a lot of crossover and quite a bit of blurring at the edges, but the cores of both groups are plenty differentiated enough to be distinct. There are a lot of Pony fans– even hardcore fetishists who have a lot in common with their furry counterparts– who have no real fandom interest in any other kind of anthropomorphic animal designs.
Not what I meant man. I meant not every fan of a cartoon with anthropomorphic characters is necessarily a furry (like my aforementioned Star Fox lovers), but every person who faps to it are furries. I’m a furry, so I know the difference.
That said, yeah, most folk on this site are definitely flurries, no doubt about that.
Getting a little hypocritical here, eh? Furry ‘clop’ is called ‘yiff’. So yiffers are superset of cloppers, not furries. Get your terminology right, and don’t judge fandoms by rumors and Fox News.
Cloppers, sure. But Bronies as a whole?
Eh… That’s kinda like saying everyone who enjoys a good game of Star Fox 64 is a furry.
I would be very much interested in finding out what the actual timelines are for this sort of thing; there were several Transformers: Animated toys that made it to the painted prototype stage and were intended for Season 4 before the series was
cancelednot-renewed-at-the-last-gorram-second, so it seems from context– they had a detailed season-long story arc outline, several story pitches, and numerous character/setting designs done before the plug was officially pulled– that it’s probably at least a year and a half, maybe two years.@Darth Sonic
Yup. Also, furries are superset of bronies. Some furries and bronies are strongly delusional about the whole matter.
We are talking 5 years here, but I see what you mean.
Sure. If you ever figure out how to predict left-field market forces like this fandom before they happen, be sure to sell that to a toy company; new product lines take time to go from concept planning to shelves.
He isn’t wrong to say that a set like Guardians of Harmony would have done far better if they struck when the iron was white hot rather than merely red hot, though.
The toys they’ve been sellin’ all this time ain’t exactly been a money sink for Hasbro, so it’s entirely possible that your definition of “terrible” may not be quite as universal as you think it is.
If a Star Trek fan tells people he’s not a Trekkie, that anyone would care? No they won’t and it’s the same for adult MLP fans. It’s futile, and really pretentious.
