Apparently, on the official Sega online store, they’re actually selling a mug with the famed “barrel of doom” pixel design on it.
I want one, but it’s kinda expensive.

You know the barrels never posed me any problems. I figured it out on my first try. I still don’t like this zone though as I feel it had a terrible color palette and annoying music.
Most definitely an awesome game, yes~ But it took me years until I finally realized you can press up and down with the d-pad while on those damn things to swing them vertically. There was no GameFAQs at the time to explain it (and I bought this game used so no manual, though I’m not sure if the manual even explained it).
Until then, I had to use the debug code, which was fun to use, but it made it feel unnatural to beat the game with Sonic (Knuckles isn’t required to go on any of these barrels in his route thankfully).
I hate this and the pyramid (and its music. It was annoying IMHO).
