I love seeing spike sleeping with sweetie belle in this pick in case they get nightmares they’ve got each other  
plus the fact it’s spike and sweetie belle sleeping over at fluttershy’s makes this even cuter then it already is.

This is awful specific dialogue:
“What do you want to do all day, Spike?”
“Well… Twilight usually has me doing chores. So I’m going to do chores. Maybe if I’m lucky you’ll reward me with the stuff Twilight does!”
 
It’s comforting to fall back on routines. Though it might seem odd, Spike obviously takes a lot of pride in what he does for Twilight and feels most comfortable when he feels like he’s being useful to someone else. There’s nothing wrong with that, and expecting a reward for a job well done is just natural for a kid.
