little worried
And it’s a funny thing to do when it’s my favourite pone that’s being abused xD
The monetization of GTAO was probably my biggest issue. As someone without a whole lot of time to invest in a game, being put in a position where my options are dishing out hella dolla in micro-transactions (I absolutely loathe micro-transactions, they’re cancer) or being a poorfag in game isn’t appealing. I’d take GTA4 or RDR online any day over that.
In all honesty after SR3, which I strongly dislike, I swore I’d never try SR4. Then a friend loaned it to me and Jesus Crust, that was a fun game. Sure it was nothing like SR2 but on its own merit it’s pretty fun.
Well in the current-gen versions a lot of exploits and broken mechanics like easily killing passive mode players have been resolved. Sadly the contact mission payouts and replay function removal have not and now it’s become so backwards that you have to purposefully elongate the mission to get the most cash and RP out of them. This in a game that is constantly pumping out vehicles and homes that cost anywhere from several hundred thousand dollars to millions just screams begging for cash card purchases.
It’s why I believe that Saints Row IV turned out to be the better open world sandbox game for 2013. Vehicles may have been useless but at least there was end game stuff to unlock like power upgrades, gang costumes, new followers, and more and you didn’t have to grind money for a week to get them.
GTAV was okay I thought, but I see what you are saying. The 3 storyline thing was kind of jarring for me though, but it worked better than I thought it would. But to be honest I haven’t played very much. After the first few months, the bugs, exploits, shitty ‘bad sport’ system, micro-transactions, and other random irritations in GTAO drove me away. I was hyped as hell for that game and I was disappointed on levels that shouldn’t be possible.
On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know if they have mod for FO4 that removes those walk-throughable bushes in settlements? They’re kind of annoying.
Also would appreciate a ‘infinite crafting materials’ mod. I know it’d basically be the game breaking equivalent of the Ohgma Infinium exploit in Skyrim, as obviously the game would be a lot easier but it would be cool to have a profile where you can freestyle crafting and excitement more.
Don’t forget GTA V’s single player where the game gives little to no incentive outside of achievements to go for any of the strangers and freaks missions as well as the activities. We went from several vehicles, assets, upgrades, weapon spawns, and more to just a reskin buggy, a monster truck, 4 racing muscle cars, and a submarine; six of the seven only being accessible if you’re on the non-360 and PS3 versions of the game and only if you’ve played said 360 and PS3 versions of the game prior.
Dammit I went on a tangent and I said I wouldn’t. I apologize for lying earlier.
Not quite, but I could see it.
I don’t think Fallout 4 is necessarily a bad change. There are things I don’t like, but for the most part I enjoy it.
I will say that I think Rockstar dropped the ball pretty hard with GTAOnline. I don’t like it.
Honestly when it comes to that second quote, I think Noah Antwiler said it best.
“Again. I like change. I like innovation but when you change too much, it becomes unrecognizable as a game in the series and people get mad. When you go overboard trying to reinvent Final Fantasy it stops being innovation and becomes well…”
Same could be said about what happened with the Grand Theft Auto series between San Andreas and now but that’s another rant for another comment section.
To punish the oppressors of ponykind is mercy. To forgive them is cruelty.
Seeing Bad things happening to bad people is one of life’s little pleasures.
so no blood.
Edited
I’m surprised no one has made a sex joke about bringing them to their knees.
I have mods that fix the dialogue fortunately.
I particularly liked this part.
“Fallout itself has not remained static over the years; its spirit has been constantly evolving and changing. Even Fallout 2 was a big tonal change from Fallout 1. And there’s a big difference between what Fallout 2 wanted to be as an RPG, and what the more action-oriented Fallout 3 actually is. There’s also a big difference between what Fallout 3 accomplished and the more old-school RPG experience that Fallout: New Vegas provided. Fallout 4 continues that metamorphic trend, and actually accomplishes its apparent goals very well. Many are calling it a “dumbing down” of the franchise, but while in a sense that’s true and I empathize with the sentiment, it also requires judging Fallout 4 by a rubric that no longer applies.”
and.
“In the city of Goodneighbor, there’s a seedy place called the Memory Den. Head inside and you’ll find rows of pods, each one housing someone lodged deep in their own memories, oblivious to the world around them. With the Memory Den, Fallout 4 summarizes the conflict felt by many longtime fans: it’s easy to lose yourself in the dream of how things used to be, while ignoring the way things actually are. Whenever I visit Memory Den, I don’t like lingering for too long. It’s not real, I know, but I don’t like the thought of getting trapped there, of never going out and having cool new adventures. Even as I may not linger, however, I do understand why others may not want to leave.”
Clackety clack.
Fairly interesting read, 6-7/10. There was a lot that I actually agreed with, a big one being that the way you can interact with the people in the wasteland is pretty limited.
I dislike dialogue, I hate that you can’t see the entirety of what you will say (it’s vague as hell at times, but I knew that would be the case since E3) and I agree that it seems like most meaningful conversations have a lot of filler and end few different ways.
Also, it is kind of disappointing that dialogue persuasion rarely goes beyond ‘PRESS X TO ASK FOR $$$’ or ‘PRESS X TO AYY BBY U WAN SUM FUK? :D’.
I really can’t say I miss the old skill system though.
I had other things to say but forgot them in the few hours since I read that, and I really can’t be bothered so lel
