I still refuse to believe alicorns are sterile. Not a damned word anyone can say will convince me otherwise.

Or they just used protection. Or had sex only with mares. Or they did have kids that just weren’t alicorns.

I’m of two minds about the artist tag being used here. On the one hand, it’s an insult to anyone who actually does create art, even art as, um, amateurish as >>1113594. On the other hand, it gives people a handy tag with which to search for or filter works put together by this person.

Probably means “asexual”, someone who isn’t sexually attracted to either gender.
 
It’s one of those things that’s entirely real and valid as a concept, but is controversial because of drama that doesn’t have any good reason to target it, and instead of saying that the hatred is harmful and problematic, some people say it’s “provoked” and blame the targets (which only encourages it).

The Journal of the Two Sisters suggests that Celestia and Luna, as well as other Alicorns, were born as Alicorns too
 
Alicorn births are extremely rare, Celestia said in the season 6 episode 1 episode ”The birth of an Alicorn is something Equestria has never seen!“ Luna and Celestia founded Equestria so they weren’t born in Equestria, Cadence was a pegasus before she was an alicorn, ergo Equestria wouldn’t have seen the birth of an alicorn.

Then again, maybe their transformation to Alicorns (Starswirl’s spell in “The journal of the two sisters” left them unable to concieve. Because magic? IDK

According to Word of Lauren, Celestia and Luna are immortal, while Twilight and Cadance aren’t.  
So, maybe  
a) Only mortal alicorns can have children at all (assuming Cadance and Twilight are only ones who reached alicorn status).  
b) All other children of alicorns were born as normal ponies and had to be uplifted like Twi and Cadance, hence Flurry Heart first to be born as an alicorn, but not the first one to be born to an alicorn.

Well Cadance is like 30 or something and Luna and celestia 2k? 3K? you only have so many eggs and they probably didn’t have time for kids or anything in the start of their reign
