True, but I said having three members represent the Tribes. Not that the team members themselves have to represent the Tribes. Though, since Team CMC did, I suspect that the judges were more in favor of them (and teams like them) because of that.

Yeah, but I think the official ruling was Teams of Three. Probably to represent the Three Tribes. If true, then the episode just added another plot hole to the pile.
I thought it was weird that they only showed the two of them in their costumes when they lost. They could have teams of two OR three, right?
