Yeah, I never said the match was the best of either character, simply argued that in a twisted sort of way it made some sense considering in TF2’s lore stairs were invented by Abraham Lincoln as a means to make rocket jumping easier, and he ended up dying trying to rocket jump up them instead of walking up them – and stairs themselves would not be perfected until Franklin Roosevelt did so after losing his legs in a horrible rocket-jumping accident.
Team Fortress 2 lore is hilarious.
Soldier is a genius ditz. He knows how to fight properly and can improvise weapons in such an impressive way (beggar’s bazooka anyone?), but outside of war and violence he’s an idiot who frecuently confuses bible histories with Tzun Su, believes America is the only important place in the world (and teh rest of the mercs outside of Scout and Engineer need to hide their nationalities from him), loves to get naked and covered in honey before fight, is quickly to do stupid things like killing Tom Jones just because Merasmus is not with him, and he thought that teleporting bread was a good thing to do even if he started to have life and becomin highly aggresive as well as bigger (Medic and Engie did it too, but they were cautious in their studies and keept the yet-small mutated bread inside of a container when the monster was becoming too dangerous).
Call me crazy, but outside of the America part, Soldier sounds more like Pinkie if she were a violent mercenary. Granted, Derpy is also a good choice. (I can believe Pinkie would survive an explosion right under her hooves/feet and get impulsed with it).
Honestly in a twisted sort of way even the Soldier would work for Twilight. Granted he’s a total moron, in TF2’s backstory most of their geniuses were equally insane; stairs were invented to make rocket jumping easier, and only later did anyone realize you could just walk up the stairs. The Soldier is unedniably stupid but he lives in a world where idiots made great strides in science and art.

I know.
As much as I try I can’t see Twi as the Sniper.
Skipping the Soldier (and even he have his moments), none of the mercs are precisely dumb, but medic outright said that he would like to study magic, loves science and is definitely quite secure of himself.
Besides………..I doubt that a darker-and-edgier yet personality-wise relatively respectful incarnation of Fluttershy would like to play with baboon uteruses.
For the most part the idea doesn’t seem to be so much as to find common ground between characters, so much as it is to appeal to a specific character trait, more or less - Applejack’s southernisms, Pinkie Pie’s craziness, Fluttershy’s kindness… the problem is that it falls short with Twilight, where her appeal is intelligence. The Sniper isn’t dumb, but on a team with mad scientists and super spies he doesn’t really stand out either.
There’s really no reason to assume Twilight couldn’t or wouldn’t play a healing role. She’s shown some knowledge in both medicine and defensive magic, and her spells fall quite easily under the sort of stuff the Medic would experiment with.
Medic’s personality is in fact the reason because I can’t see neither Sci-Twi nor Fluttershy as TF2 Medic. He’s not a shy, withdrawal, insecure individual with a tendency to not like violence, if anything, he’s the opposite: rude, maniacal, highly expressive, assertive, and he definitely enjoys violence just as much as the other mercenaries.
However, I can find Pony Twilight fifting for TF2 Medic.
Rude (pre character development, while never actually used swears, she could be condescendent at times), maniacal (seh tries to be the sanest character of the bunch, but episodes like Lesson Zero, It’s about time, PLague of the Century and some others reveal that she can be quite unhinged at times, specially before her alicorn conversion), highly expressive (despite being the typical smart girl of the bunch, she does have a huge range of emotions and expressions), assertive (everytime there’s a problem, Twilight will be there to solve it or at least try to).
The last one obviously cannot apply however in a direct way, this is MLP, and their main characters have different rules (and remember, the target demography are still little kids, so they can’t make the main heroines a bunch of psychopaths), but even then, Twilight has shown so far that while she prefers diplomatic answers, she’s not afraid of figting changellings, using spells like the “love-it-need.it”…….and the whole Tirek thing as well.
Of course, as I already said, TF2 have a bunch of violent mercenaries as main characters while MLP have cute ponies, so that’s just about all the comparatives I can do. I never heard that Twilight made dissapear the skeleton of another pony canonically XD.

In a way he kinda of reminds me of one of my uncles…idk which one since i have to many
Oh yes, I loved that show! :)
Omg you watched house too?!
Clearly you’ve never watched House M.D. if you think shyness is a requirement in the medical field.
Being shy really has nothing to do with how good a healer a character is, it’s just a stereotype that people seem to like for whatever reason. The medic himself isn’t shy at all, he’s pretty egotistical and assertive.
