I hate every popular character! Braaagghhhfderfbjjkkbdwrjppng@hfssws!!!!!
Also, saying Dashie is a “Sonic clone” tells me they aren’t very familiar with Sonic’s personality outside the old DiC ‘90s cartoon canons. Sonic’s much more laid-back nowadays actually, especially in the new “Sonic Boom” show. (Which has been better received then the game.)
Maybe so, but I get the feeling that that article would be even more obnoxious than this one was, somehow.
I have to agree, even has a fan of dash, Pinkie would’ve made mor sense.
That said it’s not like its the only one, what with Joker and Galactus and all…
@Barhandar
Wait what? I don’t have a status bar on FF but it still shows the link address at the bottom when I scroll over a link.

A self-demonstrating article is an article that demonstrates its own trope. Here, however, it’s meant to be an article written by the character, so to say. However, what people didn’t understand when they made these articles was that the first of these “character pages”, Deadpool, made sense because he could explicitly break the fourth wall. I enjoy TVTropes as much as any other Troper, but there’s things on there that just make me groan sometimes.
That’s the most likely actual reason, given my experience with stupid. I dunno what’s their stated reason.
Wait, that’s the reason for the whole no pothole thing? I’ve never understood that, considering, as you mention, hovering over a link, instantly shows the target page. Having never used a Firefox version where that wasn’t the case, the arguement just semed overly pedantic to me. Why would developers even do that? Seems like it’s just inviting scammers to abuse that “feature”.
>the insistance that you can’t have fun with links
You can thank modern idiotic browser design omitting status bar for this. In non-idiotic browsers with status bar you can see instantly where the link points by mousing over it.
I want the wiki to be useful too, but I just see too many steps in the direction of formality at the expense of fun. Call it a fear of a slippery slope. :) The nixing of Tropers Tales was something I actually championed for, it really didn’t belong. Nobody cares. Renaming sub-sections to avoid drama, yeah, sure. Heck, I could even understand the resoning for giving unopposed, wiki-wide edit power to a secret council of tropers (the 7p-thingy…?), given the importance of ad-revenue to pay the bills.
But other steps, like arbitrarily renaming some tropes just because (f.ex Xanatos Gambit vs. The Wesley), having an article about “No Notability” while demanding citations for some tropes, the insistance that you can’t have fun with links (primarily speaking about ponifying entries on the FiM recap section, because people reading about a pony episode wouldn’t know that “that man is dead” is the same as “that mare is dead” you can probably guess my Tropes name by now ;D), etc. The attempt to nix self-demonstrating articles rather than moving them to “just for fun”, just seems like another slide down the slope.
Oh no, TvTropes aren’t Wikipedia yet, and I still like reading articles, and we both agree it should never approach that. I just see/fear a trend. I mean, I’m just here to read about ponies, Avengers, Trek and have fun, not care about following x wiki guidelines when making an edit.
I do actually prefer TV Tropes’ increased formality. The thing about tropes is, they’re fun, but they should also be universal, and useful. A problem I have with, for example, TFWiki, is that I just want to read about giant transforming alien robots and instead I’m being confronted with jokes that I don’t understand and captions that are meaningless.
TV Tropes is nowhere close to Wikipedia’s “no fun allowed” philosophy yet. :)
“ TV Tropes is trying to phase this stuff out as they become more encyclopedic.”
Which is just one of the reasons why TvTropes has lost it’s appeal and become just another Wikipedia clone. Other causes is the introduction of “citation needed” and admins/super editors.
Comedy is almost the most subjective form of entertainment. Personally, I found the episode pretty consistently amusing, though in a half-metafictional, half-cringe vein that’s not exactly what one would expect in MLP:FiM.
Oh right! That was some of the best, not-forced-at-all storytelling I’ve seen in the show IIRC.
Twilight being singled out the entire episodes by her friends and discord and various “jokes.”
>Edit: Wait apparently it’s the second lowest now. What about discord is first.
I’m glad to hear that. STWOM is a bit hokey but not actually bad in my opinion, it still makes me laugh. WAD, on the other hand, is just aggressively unfunny and patronising all the way through.
Oh, I agree it’s rather mediocre.
That said, what held me in was the comedy bits.
@Mike
I don’t really want to go into detail about why I think GPP was the worst episode of the series until “Princess Spike”, especially since I think it was disappointingly mediocre rather than outright bad, but for me the worst flaws were 5 of the Mane 6 collectively carrying the idiot ball for the bulk of the episode, Ms. Harshwhinny awarding the Equestria Games to the Crystal Empire because Ms. Peachbottom got the phoney-baloney song-and-dance that she (Ms. Harshwhinny) so despised, and this:
The shot of Rainbow Dash hitting the window while Rarity was working on Cadance’s mane was excellent, though, I’ll agree with that. And Ms. Peachbottom was fun.
Eh, /b/ is pretty shite tbh fam. I used to lurk (when I was underage lel) but it’s literally just professional shitposting now.
Now I know what you’re thinking. “But T, that sounds like the perfect place for you!”
To which I respond with a respectful, “no u…”
I’ll respectfully disagree but at the same time /b/ is pretty much responsible for the entire brony fandom (saying that as a guy who was on /co/ when we were just a measly general) which for good or bad is pretty much why we’re still talking here about new season content. So Heh.

I’ve been a poster on /mlp/ before, but I don’t really care for that sort of thing.
Well I am pretty much for the same thing. But since I have also always been a 4chan denizen I’m already served and I’m used to waddle through shitpost and just pick what I like. Plus the CYOAs there are fun.

Not to be confused with Friendship Games.
