It might not have been a suicide attempt, but it was unquestionably suicidal. Suicidality doesn’t have to be on impulse, it can just be a pattern of behaviour that emerges where someone doesn’t really care if they live or die. Trixie knew she probably wouldn’t perform the trick right, and she knew that failing the trick could lead to her death, but she did it anyway when it would have been easy to just walk away. That is, by definition, suicidality.

It did kinda feel like attempted suicide didn’t it. I don’t think it was intentional though. Or maybe it’s open ended and up for interpretation.
