Me too, it would fit too perfectly with her personality, the way she makes bonds, and it leaves it open ended who her mother could be among the main cast. Her being raised by a single dad was pretty much without question for my headcanon.
 
The only question I really had was whether he was already deceased. Between her issues with loss and the posters of him in her house, not to mention the lack of him in all the public events she’s been in, this was a very odd inclusion for S6….unless he’s like a Ghost Dad among all the other ghosts that appear on Hearth’s Warming. :/

He is named in merchandising, Rainbow Blaze. His relation with Rainbow Dash is the only thing needing of confirming. Though personally, I’m leaning towards father.

Still TBD whether he’s her father, brother, or whatever. I hope the episode addresses it and finally names him.
