This is actually my first MLP based adopt I ever made. xD

Lightning Pulse is a demi-god diety stallion (MLP-ish)m he comes with 2 moods, color pallette, 2 eye modes. He generates lightning, also through the gems embedded on his body. He’s usually serious and quiet but he’s easily shy around mares.

If it was towards the art itself I would, but “watermarking” criticism, then no I wont, I will do anything to make sure my designs are safer. Trying to push the “don’t do it here” thing with my works isn’t the type of approach i’d show courtesy for.

What are you guys even talking about. Creating massive paragraphs fighting over the water marks? They arent even that distracting. Talk about what needs to be talked about. You know you can all see the drawing perfectly well.

I wasn’t talking about that guys comment as they were deleted and therefore just shitposting I was talking about the actual critiques the nice ones.

Now how about you try to show some courtesy back to them.

I do it to make it harder for thieves. I usually put it on the face area, and on the legs, and on the close up for the pic because someone can just use them without permission for icons on additional sites and i wont know about it most likely, ones on the legs is just an extra protection. When I heard ppls works been taken by removal of one watermark, so I added another to the body to make it a little harder. I dont like the idea of my works being stolen from thieves so I go more protective. By making it kinda unattractive for the general viewers, it makes me feel better knowing ppl won’t like it enough to try and take, but ppl who wanna buy them see through them and buy them.

@Pagan
some of you sure like to trash on someone’s preference in protection

I think you need to stop being so dramatic about all this. What we’re doing is criticizing your use of watermarks, and I know you don’t like that sort of thing, but it definitely doesn’t count as us “trashing” on you in any way. As Pagan said, when we spot a problem we point it out. That’s just part of how Derpi is; we’re nitpicky at times.

Now again I’ll ask why you need more than one large watermark on the full body shot. Again like Pagan said, it ruins the look of the character for other people. And sure, you can say that line again of “it’s easy to look past and see the character”, but it isn’t. They’re difficult to not notice due to how complex they are, because of how many there are, and because of simply the placement. Eye contact is vital in connecting a viewer to a drawn character, but all the eyes here are partially covered. That’s part of why these particular watermarks get to us, I think.

Your attitude isn’t any different, it’s terrible also. Dont go around downing ppl for wanting to protect their adopts then I wont get defensive about it, the guy who posted first insulted my work first (which the comment was removed).

I bet you did see my kind, but guess what, unlike them I don’t give up and I wont let ppl stop me from what i’ve been doing. I stand on my designs protection. That’s how adopt/design artists are now from all the issues going on. =)

Honestly I don’t actually care about the watermark I just don’t like your attitude towards people who were just trying to help you and act like a dick to them I see your kind come and go on this site all the time they never last long because they treat people like they are idiots. Either learn to take some critiques with a grain of salt or don’t read the comments because your attitude leaves a lot to be desired.

Don’t do it here? Are you admin or something? Because there’s no rules stating im not allowed ot watermark my art. If you don’t like how i do things then report it, it’s that simple.

Idc if you don’t like me posting it on here or not, there’s no rules about watermarking so im sticking to that. If it was a normal art pic then only 1 watermark on the side/not covering the pic would be posted.

For a MLP site, some of you sure like to trash on someone’s preference in protection and MLP designs are the top when it comes to thief on Facebook beware pages. I’m pretty sure if someone explained how they can take your designs watermarks off in photoshop, you’d feel irky about it too like I did.

For protecting them from others. Ppl can still steal them without watermarks and the customer is only suppose to have that version unlss they post it pubically, which they havent, or else I would. Most of my designs I sold, ppl dont specifically post them publically unless they get commissioned art on them.

I post them, there’s ppl who TAKE TIME to look through the watermarks just like the ppl who buy my designs do, it’s easy. You dont have to look at them. I can see the art pretty decently. This is an art site and I post them like that if I want. That’s my preferences as a design maker.

@Sapphirus
I don’t think anyone here has told you to stop using watermarks. I’ve personally been complaining about the fact that you always seem to put multiple giant watermarks on single images of a character. Mainly the full body shots like on this one. Obtrusive or not, one watermark per image is all you need.

Also, if these characters have already been sold then I’m not sure what the point of keeping the watermarks on in the first place is. You’ve made your money and an OC is an OC - almost no one else in this fandom covers up their original characters in this way. If the character has already been sold, what’s the point?
Pagan

Gay Viking
@Sapphirus
I would but all I can see are watermarks. There’s four one one image of this character, come on already, I want to upvote this but I just can’t bring myself to.

This as a valid critique and you called them a thief and it seems any type of critique mentioned will only be met with you telling them to basically shut up and accuse them of being a thief or a troll and if that’s all you’re going to do then maybe keep your art on those sights that apparently do nothing but praise because this ain’t that type of site if there is something wrong we are going to say something it’s always been that way this is not a hugbox site. Obtrusive watermark is a tag here because they ruin pictures and distract from the image if the only person who has a clean version of the image is the commissioner then leave it that way or post somewhere that likes it that way.

@Sapphirus
Examples of designs selling regardless of watermarks because people take the time to look through it which is easy.
SO yeah, im gonna keep doing what im doing, it’s working for me well.

Then do it there not here.

From past situations, I Dont take critique well because ppl use it as a way to insult or someway get a shot at me for stupid reasons that don’t concern them personally. Anyone who’s against protecting art designs and adopts and mentions to me about how they can remove them
raises a red flag. I’ve mproved plenty in my art without the bashing/complaining and criticizing of my art in my childhood til my adulthood now (Because it was mainly bashing then helping so I dont take it from ppl much unless it’s done in a no-;ash out way), if I want critique, I go to ppl who actually aren’t rude about it the same time. If the art is good enough for me, i’ll post it. Complaining to me about protecting my art isn’t “an improving” type of comment, it’s just plain finding something to pick on another about, I got my way of doing things like you have your way and others. I dont put it all over my own art, just designs and adopts, and I wont stop. If you don’t like my art and how I do things then block me. Many others dont mind that I do it, especially my past customers. My designs were in danger when I wasn’t doing and seen some cases where ppl claimed them/took them. so im covering them now in a way to make it hard but you can still see them the same time. Facebook is where I post them and there’s MANY ppl stealing designs lately. So no, im not taking chances.

Yeah, uh, I don’t know where you get off for using Rule #0 to delete my comments. My comments did not include namecalling, trolling or discrimination. I didn’t insult the artwork or talent, just the OC design, not that the artwork was trash, they do have artistic talent in my opinion because I checked out their FA.

As for baseless criticism, that’s also not true. If the watermarks were acceptable, this image wouldn’t have the obtrusive watermark tag. Having %0 transparency on your watermark would make it completely solid, not make it disappear.

@Sapphirus, I didn’t tell you to stop making art, you just assumed I.

Hey, so while you’re active here… did you specifically request artist:sapphirusnocte as your linked tag or did that get entered by autocomplete and you really wanted artist:sapphirus (or something else)? Because sapphirusnocte was an existing tag and appears to be a different artist (unless that’s also you?).
