“rape her mind” is a bit much considering she seemed perfectly fine after he was booted out of it, we don’t know if holly’s dead or just banished in this realm like Silverlay, in fact its likely that silver mote of light that led Twilight to Silverlay was Holly.
 
And he didn’t succeed in doing any such thing, this is his realm of darkness not equestria, Twilight just went in there to find Silverlay after she foiled his plans, again.

well, he did kind of rape applejack’s mind, and got away with it, then easily took silverlay, after successfully murdering holly. and with silverlay’s magic, he did sort of succeed in covering equestria in impenetrable darkness over which he reigns supreme.
 
he did get beaten and surprised by rainbow dash though. because dash is awesome.
