Don’t really see them claiming such a thing. Some folks love the movies, some hate them, most just don’t care… It is the way things are and nothing you or me can say is going to change it.

Not everyone sees the Movie’s as an insult to the original series you know. So please don’t act or make it sound like they do. I personally saw (as said) the Movie’s FIRST and loved em and decided to give the series a try

Sure OP, as long we get to see the characters wear pyjamas as human girls, nobody will care if those movies continue to insult our love for them in the original show. It’s cool.

I like it more due to the fact that it doesn’t suffer from a case of Mass-Effect-2-itis that the show used to be terribly afflicted with.

Let’s not start the whole Starlight == Communism thing, please… It is completely inaccurate and just stupid. The only thing people show by saying these phrases is how little they actually know of history and/or other political systems.

I hate the British English of pyjamas. Pajamas makes way more sense, phonetically speaking.
 
As for EQG, it’s a hit-and-miss. The first one was awful because it was uninspired and Flash Sentry was super forced. Rainbow Rocks is kind of the only decent one, wherein it wasn’t terrible and it had decent and memorable villains. Friendship games was okay; I don’t feel one way or the other about it.  
Also, Shimmer isn’t a valid argument. I’m sorry if I think that they took her original character (vengeful former student in the first one)and then gave her absolutely 0 character afterwards, not that she had much character in the first place. You can’t make gold from lead, but you can definitely wrap it in gold foil and fool idiots with it.  
It’s worse considering they have done it to each reformed character other than Discord. Diamond goes from haughty brat to 0 character, Starlight from Stalin’s wet dream to 0 character, and so on. Diamond hit me harder, since I was one of the few who actually enjoyed her very much before the “reformation”.

Pure pony movies would have been amazing, yeah… EQG movies are really repetitive and have literally no redeeming or otherwise noticeable qualities/advantages compared to other similar products on the market, so they are average/mediocre at best.

Sorry, but not even Twilight in pj’s can salvage those train wreck films.

The EQG movies are not bad, but they are an opportunity cost to some extent over pure pony movies.

Everything good about them is what’s transplanted from its mother franchise.

Equestria Girls was a mistake.

I guess I’ll just have to settle for being another one that likes them both. I may have started with the TV series and thought this was an odd turn for Hasbro to take, but I ended up enjoying it regardless and really that’s all that matters.

No offense taken. But as I said I saw Equestria Girl before I saw ANY of MLP and EQG was what got me to look into MLP in the first place. Now I will explain how that happened for clarity. I was in a Xat chat one night and in its youtube player someone shared the EQG movie. I was bored at the time and decided “what the heck i’ll watch it” I loved it and as such decided to give MLP a shot and loved it too. :)

Nah fam.

I just wish they hadn’t gone with the Monster High/Bratz style character designs.

No offence to anyone, but I have a feeling he might be one of the ever-growing crowd of people ‘liking’ a show about ponies for the ‘my little human’ franchise that has NO ponies in it (weird, isn’t it?). Usually these people are doing their best to turn MLP into yet another generic low-quality cartoon about teenage schoolgirls… you know, like the other hundred ongoing series out there? Never mind the unique aspect of the show - ponies - let’s make it about humans instead! Clever.

The world would have been a better place, yes… I wish there was a similar argument against Starlight Glimmer.

I 100% Support the Equestria girls movies, because it was the Equestria Girls movies that got me hooked on MLP
