I’m sorry. That face at the end made me giggle too much to not draw this.

Well in that case I imagine it’s the sort of thing most of the characters would love to have, except maybe Rainbow Dash. Twilight’s known to research medicine and enjoys helping others, Pinkie Pie would likely enjoy it for the sake of making friends, and even Rarity would likely find use for the fact the Medic’s tech can apparently restore damaged clothing too. Most people just make Fluttershy the healer because they associate her with being more motherly than the others.
I feel like I’ve seen HeavyJack before actually, but I think for the most part people like Big Mac more.

Um, you missed the point. I said, the ability to heal people the way the Medic can is one that Fluttershy would love to have.
Also, I never said AJ was canonically tech-savvy. Besides, if AJ’s ‘go-to thing’ is that she’s the tough one, why hasn’t anyone ever portrayed her as the Heavy?
Except Fluttershy doesn’t have the ability to heal like the Medic can. Granted she knows enough to treat an injured mouse leg that’s kind of where her healing skills cap at this moment in time. The Medic’s a surgeon as well as an engineer, having enough proficiency with technology to build sufficiently advanced technology that borders on magical like the Medigun and enough skill with medicine to do things that are medically impossible. Let’s not forget in the recent comic he confesses to stealing the souls of his teammates and surgically adding them to his own, which might explain how respawn works.
AJ’s not really tech savvy though. She’s certainly smart enough to maintain a boiler, but she’s never shown a particular interest in technology, otherwise I imagine she’d have found the Super Cider Squeezy 6000 to be much more interesting than she did. Her go-to thing has always basically been that she’s the tough one.
Also, on a side note, Rarity’s skill in magic is also not really hinted to be particularly special. Sure we don’t see many levitate multiple objects at once, but we also don’t see many with an instance where it is called for.
Edited because: Slight word change
I always thought that Fluttershy was made the Medic because the ability to heal like the TF2 Medic can is something Canon!Fluttershy would love to have. And as for EngieJack…well…let’s face it: there’s at least two reasons why some people refer to AJ as a background character.
Being tech-savvy like the Engineer would give AJ something she hasn’t had before.

I’m pretty sure that both Spike and Pinkie Pie could equally fit as Pyro. Both of them are likely to retreat to a fantasy world because they can’t deal with the fact that they’re fighting to the death against ponies who look, sound and act exactly like their friends. And course there’s the Pyro naming puns: Spike + Pyro = Spyro, and Pinkie PIE-ro.
More specifically that the common thoughts on which pony is which class are too shallow, like Applejack being Engineer because country, and nothing else. This artist instead tries to match abilities, like Pyro-Spike, Medic-Twilight, etc.
I think the joke is that the medic and the engineer are smarter than the sniper is.

I’m sorry, are you talking about Metal-Kitty or yourself?
