Just noticed that the Chiquita Banana tag no longer exists.
What I meant was that the decision to completely remove the Chiquita Banana tag was made by only a few people.
I’m not saying that Cleopatra Jazz isn’t a fine name, I’m simply saying that it was wrong to completely ignore the opinions of others by removing the already established tag.
So now we have both and everyone’s happy.

Speaking of “Not quite how it happened”… I count thirteen people– including a site assistant– voting for Cleopatra Jazz in that thread, with a couple others disliking Chiquita Banana without promoting an alternative, as opposed to three or four of you preferring Chiquita Banana and a couple others disliking Cleopatra Jazz without promoting an alternative.
Not quite how it happened. The name Chiquita Banana caught on during the naming discussions, and it became the tag.
Several days later, a couple of members decided on their own that they didn’t like the name, and that Cleopatra Jazz was better.
Again, this was several days after the episode aired, in a fandom where these things are usually decided in a matter of hours.
One of these members decided to add the Cleopatra Jazz tag, while simultaneously deleting the established Chiquita Banana tag.
This was a decision made by only a few members, with no mod input that I saw.

When did this new name become a thing?
I suggested it the day after the episode, because I thought “Chiquita Banana” was lazy and uninspired; there was back and forth in a couple different image comment sections and eventually a mod or assistant decided that would be the Derpi name for her. Someone who disagreed later went through and added chiquita banana to everything tagged as cleopatra jazz.
Not passing judgment, just got used to name A and trying to readjust to name B.
Came up around the same time or a little bit after, I think? Personally I find Cleopatra Jazz better because it relates more to the person the pony’s based on.
Thanks, but what I meant is wasn’t she pretty unanimously getting called Chiquita Banana for a while? When did this new name become a thing?
