I would say that FlutterCord and MarbleMac are “Just frineds” while Dislestia and FLutterDash are obviously platonic and in case of Dislestia, nonexistant friendship.

Really, there are all sorts of “just friends” relationships on the show.

This reminds me of Alfred Hitchcock Presents. No, hear me out. Often times the bad guys on that show got away with it. This presented a problem, however, since it was, at the very least, frowned upon at that time for bad guys to go unpunished, so Alfred would come on at the end of the show and say that the bad guy got caught.  
So, for those viewers who didn’t mind the bad guy escaping, they could pretend that Alfred was just lying to cover his ass, and for those viewers who minded the bad guy escaping, they could pretend that Alfred was being serious.

It would probably help in that regard if they actually had some screentime together a bit more often.

To be honest, theres hardly any frinedship shown between Cadance and Shining. Like its realy sad. They love eachother because they love eachother, that’s it. Feels like they were forced by their parents or something. I would sooner buy a wedding with LyraBon and FLutterCord or CheesePie than this.

I can see LyraBon having romantic chemistry in the SoL episode but Vinyl and OCtavia also always strike me as purely platonic flatmates, mostly because of natural social barrier created by Vinyls lack of social interactions and their difference in music genres.

I can speak from experience; if you don’t marry your best friend, you probably effed it up. Marriage is a lifetime legal and social commitment, it’s just bonkers to enter into it in the first place unless it’s with the one person you’d most rather spend time with in the whole world, since they’re the one you’re going to be seeing the most of for the rest of your life. My wife and I never dated, we were just friends until we were best friends until we were superbesties until we both realized whoops– guess we’re in love now; all of my married (and might-as-well-be) geek friends were the same way.
 
Look at it like this– if you look for a romantic partner by being friends first, even if the romance angle doesn’t stick, you still win because you have an awesome friend, and every friend you make is practice for the next friend you make.

I think there’s a big difference between your super bestie, getting around “angry parents” and making the most popular lesbian ship “canon” and actually being married. But that could just be me being ignorant or something.
 
Now I’ve heard like your marriage partner should be your best friend (but I’ve only heard that recently because of a dumb jewelry commercial selling more boring diamonds) but… I honestly don’t know what to think about that since I feel that you can have your best friend that you can be romantic/sexual with and a best friend you can be platonic with. But every situation is different so I can’t speak from experience. All I can give is a shrug.
