I seriously hope we get a Celestia episode in Season 7 or at least before the series ends.
It annoys me so much that people swallowed that. Celestia is a fictional character. Just like Luna was before they gave her a reason to exist and be present in episodes; have things to do. It’s as easy as making something up and doing it. They just don’t want to use the character and Mr. Miller didn’t want to outright say it.
That’s good to hear, really. Even though I think Jim eventually did a poor job.

Two, plus four more where she played a supporting role?
@Pyre
Jim Miller has mentioned somewhere (I think in an interview with EqD) that they don’t want to do a Celestia episode just to check off the “Celestia Episode” box, but they want to make sure to give her an episode that does right by her character. I just fear that if they haven’t come up with a story for her after six seasons, they just aren’t going to.
Though, to be honest, I have some hope that Songco & Lewis could write a good episode for her.
It would have been better in an Earlier season when we were still writing letters but it would be a nice callback now.
It wouldn’t be surprising at this point if Celestia’s episode is about her not getting enough appreciation, as if following on from Luna’s branch of episodes and history. I also think there’s a really great chance of an episode about her coming up in Season 7.
What’s interesting is that writers do have conferences of sorts to discuss their direction with the show, and they tend to address things fans have worried about in the past often right at the beginning of a season. I’m sure it has passed their mind plenty, but it’s still real surprising that Luna can get regular episodes while it’s almost if they need another Slice of Life event just for her sister to have one for herself.

Also, I still find it horribly ironic that in general, the fandom tends to treat Celestia like the ponies of old treated Luna. The lack of Celestia episodes have not helped this trend at all.
@sargesprinkles
Funny that, she (and her sister) has been very effective in defeating threats to the nation and even has the intentions to fight on the front lines should a war happen, yet as soon as the show starts she’s always the damsel in distress.

maybe, it’s sad she never got herself an episode in 6 years, but when i remember the number of episodes luna had so far i can’t help but laugh
I will considering how worked up Celestia fans (and the fandom in general) get.

Fandom is not canon.
Besides, for a character as important as her, it’s only logical that she gets at least one episode for herself. And it’s easy to make such an episode interesting or fun to watch. Just put her in situations that have nothing to do with politics or her relationship with Twilight.
Says who?

Ditto.
Couldn’t have said it better.
I think it’s called Pony Town, though I could be wrong.
This is a off topic question but what game is that of your profile pic? Just curious 😗
Celestia (and to a lesser but still large extent, Luna) is pretty much the go to damsel in distress of the show
so i guess that princess title fits
Will you still be laughing when we have ten Luna ep’s, and no Celestia ep’s?
The fandom wanted a Celestia episode from day one. Why? Because she’s a bucketload of wasted potential.
Celestia is an alicorn. She and Luna are the ONLY alicorns that we know of at the beginning of the series, and they’re also ruling the country. How? Why? How did this come to be? What’s their backstory? How did the nature of their relationship affect them both as characters? How has Celestia’s millennium of guilt and solitary rule influenced her personality? How is she able to move the sun? Why?
Almost every major appearance she’s had since then has been either bland exposition, or simply raised further questions. Not once has the series actually taken time out to explain anything about Celestia as a character, focus on her personality, have her develop in any significant way, or pretty much treat her as anything but an exposition dump and/or deus ex machina when the plot called for it. The show has had so many little moments of almost characterization that suggest something interesting, but it never follows up on any of them. And that goes double for Luna. Especially since Luna got her “I’m a maladjusted social reject but I think I’m better now?” episode and then basically had an offscreen personality 180 and joined big sis in dishing out dry exposition. Even then, Luna has done some nice things in the CMC episodes, showed up once or twice to be spoopy and charismatic, what have you. But Celestia? Not a damn thing.
The show’s absolute refusal to do anything interesting with Celestia is one of the things that has frustrated me since day one and it absolutely baffles me as to why the show continues to do it.
Besides, we have the fandom to do that!
We all are, my friend.
