Emerald says that his teacher wants it for… Various reasons.
 
“Ah, say no more child. I’m afraid the only place to get white deer antlers is off the deer themselves. They are very rare though. Only one white deer is born for every thousand, and most of the time they are heavily guarded.” Bunsen says with a nod.
 
“Are they that important?” Ruby asks.
 
“Oh yes. Something to do with their religion I hear. That and they are very… Fertile.” Bunsen replies, scratching the back of his head.
 
Emerald ponders on this a second. How is Joyride possibly going to get one of those? Emerald then asks what he plans to do now that the ritual is over.
 
“Some paperwork.” He says with a sigh that makes it clear he’d like to be doing anything else, “I do run this temple after all.”
 
Emerald comments that he said the temple existed for hundreds of years. Was it here before the town was?
 
“Yes! Very astute of you child. The temple was originally set far away from cities, mostly because it wanted to do research without the prying eyes of any authorities around. Eventually however traders and merchants found their way here, settled, and the town grow out of it naturally. Hiwot’s temple came soon after that.” Bunsen says happily, as they exit back into the foyer.
 
Emerald asks if he’ll teach him the rust potion he was talking about. It’d be great for escaping shackles and chains and the like, he thinks to himself.
 
“Military secret, sorry child.” Bunsen says, giving Emerald a booping on the nose.
