O hai. Well, by now people are just used to the way I do her colors, it would be weird to change them now, although I don’t have any problem with you or anybody else doing it true to the reference. I don’t see why it matters.

well its not this particular picture. its nearly every picture of “epona”. everyone gives her a wrong color scheme. and thats what i dont get. as if artists are too lazy to get the right references. there are some correct epona ponifications here on derpibooru. just search for the epona tag and go to the first entries. there you can find some rare eponas with the right color scheme. and she looks cuter as a pony with more colors, than just some weird desaturated orange and white mane XD i know from at least one artist (ardail) that the color scheme of epona is too hard to make. so they all go just the easy way and just pretend that this is epona XD

I think you may be taking this whole thing a bit too seriously. This is a quickie doodle with a couple of colors splashed on; it’s just not going to have rich details. Though I admit, the bit of your reply that confuses me is
 

 
Is there some other ponification of Epona you prefer? If so, link it. Or are you talking about some in-game appearance of her as a (non-MLP) pony that I’ve missed because I haven’t played all of the Zelda games?

so color scheme is totally wrong on nearly 95% of all “epona” pictures here on derpibooru lol  
where is the sense on making a random pony, giving it an object from zelda and calling it epona. where is the attention to detail. the original epona has way more colors to her. and looks way cuter as a pony as this so called epona from above and many other abominations.

Still not sure what the issue is. The mane is whitish and the coat is reddish. Are you objecting to her not having a black snoot? She doesn’t in Twilight Princess, at least. Or is there something else I’m missing?
