Description

I imagined that these would sorta be sister games like the Zelda GBC games and most generations of Pokémon. I was originally going to have the GBA one be 2001, but I figured that’d be too close to the GBA’s actual launch date, and I’d imagine a 3rd party such as Hasbro wouldn’t rush it out in less than 12 months.

For some games. Surprisingly, the GBC remake of “Wario Land 2” had no distinction in it’s title to differ it from it’s earlier GB release. (Though, the GBC version could still be played on a GB or SuperNES via SuperGB.)

In fact, the B&W GB version of WL2 is probably pretty rare now, seeing how it was only available for a few months before the GBC came out. (Distinguishable by it’s grey cartridge. GBC games had black, or clear cartridges.)

Huh, I could have sworn there were at least a couple, but after looking at Wikipedia’s list of game boy color titles, there weren’t any at all with “color” in the title!

I can’t think of many that used the “Color” title.

Funny thing is, “Super Mario Kart” was a rather stealthy one in hindsight, seeing as Mario is often known as “Super Mario.”
Might not of been intentional, seeing as Mario Kart 64 was originally going to be named “Super Mario Kart R.” (And it was going to have Kamek instead of DK originally.)

Nintendo has an epidemic of games that incorporate part of the console name into their title, from quality first party games to TV/Movie franchise shovelware

Super Generic Title
Generic Title 64
Generic Title Color
Generic Title Advance
Generic Title DS (often with a horribly forced DS acronym in the title)
Generic Title Wii
Generic Title 3D
Generic Title U/WiiU

Only the NES and Gamecube seemed to be immune from this, though I’m sure I’m just forgetting any examples of Generic Title Cube

You’re missing out on some good stuff then
Aside from all the SNES game remakes which were amazing to have at the time (Yoshi’s island on a car trip? Yes plz) I spent hundreds of hours in Advance Wars 1 and 2, the strangely good Megaman Battle Network and other assorted RPGs, even DOOM!

Most people identify millennials as those born between 1982 and 2004, so yeah, that would be an overwhelming majority of us. (Though I think you mean core Millennials, like those born between 1990 and 2000, and yeah, I think at least half of us would be.)

soooooo what your saying is Dash is better because GBC is better! i never had an advance but my last nintendo i had has the adavance sp in the classic nintendo livery but i still only used it for the older GBC cartridges. i never had any of the newer games that used the short advanced cartridges.

Ace Combat Advance, Final Fantasy Tactics Advance and V and VI, FF IV Advance, Army Men Advance, both versions of Bomberman Max 2 and plenty of others. It was almost as prevalent as super and 64 had been.

Baseball Advance, Azumanga Daioh Advance, Donald Duck Advance, Driver 2 Advance

I don’t remember that many GBA games that used “Advance(d)” as a subtitle aside from the Super Mario Advance (which was a series of remakes) and Sonic Advance games (to distinguish them from the Genesis games).
