Yes, and whenever the artists of anything request a takedown, it’s taken down. We don’t expect someone to have a hissy fit over afterwards and drop a meta-post calling the artist a bitch.
If someone does something just for recognition, let them. If they don’t get it, they’ll just stop or stop caring about others’ praise. Either way, it’s their work, they should have control over who gets to use it.
You really are trying to start something, aren’t you?
Artists spend time, free time, working on things for others to enjoy. Some of them want some recognition before their stuff gets reused, some just like to know the resuser acknowledges their work by asking for permission first.
Treating artist and their work like “it’s on the internet, IT’S MINE NOW” will quickly get us into a situation where there’s a lot less art to go around.
GUYS SERIOUSLY, THESE FUCKING KIDS (gestures to kids) AND THIER LITTLE VIRGIN EARS CAN’T FUCKING BE AROUND ALL THIS GOD DAMNED MOTHER FUCKING TITTY SUCKING SWEARING FOR FUCKS SAKE.
The uploader and the artist were the same person, you could have sent them a PM and I’m pretty sure they would’ve said yes to reusing whatever.
And yes, the whole Copyright thing is a mess. It’s why we support CC licenses. That barely anyone uses despite them being present on every upload page.
Would it be okay if I left it the corpyright logo there?
By the way, the picture and comment is not directed at the admin, but at the artist who complain that I used his image. I’m not using it to print and sell T-shirts or something. I find it somewhat hypocritical that one would defend the “corpyright” of his fanart, fanart that is based on characters that DOES have a real and registered corpyright.
Just sayan.
wat
Unbreakable rules don’t exist.

Nobody bothered to ask for permission to upload a lot of things that are now also here on Derpibooru.
Someone isn’t as fluent as he thinks he is.

Isn’t recognition overrated?
The reused vector was >>113646
The deleted upload was a two panel comic using two such vectors.
The deleted comment contained a defacement of it.

Wouldn’t that be just hillarious?
