Yoda shouldn’t be so cryptic and just say “put effort into it” xD
I think the meaning of the statement is that, when you “try”, you don’t put as much effort into it as you would when you just do something.
When you say you’re going to try, chances of you failing or giving up are much higher, because you’re doubting yourself. If you tell yourself to simply do it and give it your all from the start, you’re not doubting yourself as much and you have a better chance of succeeding.
A similar way of thinking was used in the Matrix, with Morpheus’ line “Stop trying to hit me and hit me.”.
That statement is an absolute.
And the bible quotes “He who is not with me is against me”, another absolute.
This means that Yoda, Obi-Wan, Anakin and Jesus Christ were all Sith.
