Don’t do that. For all you claim to understand about MLP:FiM you’ve lost track of the most important thing: MLP:FiM is about sharing, friendship, and understanding. Don’t drag your discussions here down into flamewars and angst – keep it constructive and positive.

Why wait a year to reignite a flame? That’s pretty damn stupid.  
I won’t even try to be a dick about it, i’ll just make the points that are fact.
 
-EQG is about Sunset, it’s her story, it’s always been planned that way, why give the Human 6 more time when we already get plenty of them in the main show, they are kind of meant to be half side, half main characters. And they even have great moments too in some of the recent shorts.
 
-FIM is supposed to be about all of them, though it was primarily about Twilight in the earlier seasons. Starlight ends up taking way more time than she should at times, making some people feel like it’s the Starlight Glimmer show, which rubs people the wrong way. Using these two in that kind of comparison, is kind of invalid, since one, it’s literally their story, and the other, it’s supposed to be The Mane 6(7)’s story.
 
-When they threw Glimmer into EQG, you and everyone else knew it would send off a frenzy because people wanted to see Sunset’s story be complete and have her reunite with Celestia, but instead, we throw Glimmer in EQG, because why the hell not. They give Sunset 2 minutes in Equestria which was just SAD, and had a shoehorned reason why the other Mane 6 wasn’t there. That special in general was also a flop, because it was just straight boring. They wasted Glimmer’s appearance in EQG anyways because it didn’t deliver at all. It’s to date one of the worst Specials they’ve done, and not because she was in it either. Everything was done terribly, other than some of Sunset and Starlight’s interactions, they were very cute.
 
-As for Sunset finally getting her main storyline wrapped up, they did that in Forgotten Friendship, which aired after EQG was canonized at the end of Season 7. She got to reunite with Celestia and have a happy moment, and it was heart warming, and also a much better special than Mirror Magic. Sunset’s main story arc has been wrapped up, so what they do with her from this point on, is up to them, we’re just along for the ride.
 
-I’m sure, along with the rest, Starlight especially will get her wrap up moment this next and final season. We’ll just have to wait and see what they have planned.

ironic. Sunset was shoehorned into the limelight and overshadows the rest of the EqG cast, yet that isn’t considered forcing her onto us, but if Glim Glam gets even just ten seconds on-screen, she’s shoved down our throats.
 
if you have that kind of problem with the Glim, you might as well have it with Sunset as well. why complain about people who exceed your standards when you set the bar very low in the first place?

At this point I kinda agree. Pushed her all over ShimSham just to force more GlimGlam.

I have never hated her. I tend to focus more on the positives.

It worked for me, although I was open to the idea of her from the start. She’s now my 3rd favorite character on the show.

At the cost of the walking OC eyesore brigade and giving all changelings the idiot ball. Sharing is apparently an alien concept for changelings… despite the fact that, even when starving, they apparently get enough food to at least survive. The only way that can happen with the kind of numbers changelings have is through rationing, and anyone who can conceive of rationing can surely conceive of sharing. Yet not once has any changeling in history stumbled across the secret to free energy.

Not all change is bad. Change is necessary for life. How boring would your life be if everything was the same every day and everything went 100% according to plan? That’s why I hate suburbs. Back on track, a long-running show can’t just do the same thing forever, changes have to be made to keep things interesting. With that said change CAN be a bad thing if handled poorly. Spongebob went from an entertaining and amazingly well-written show to a shocking, mean, disturbing outlet for fetishists. I get that redeeming all the villains is supposed to be a message that you can be friends with everyone because everyone’s a good person but it isn’t a good message. Yes, I think that there is a good person in everyone, but there is a point where someone crosses the moral line. Kim Jong Un does not just need a hug. Starlight Glimmer is a powerful cult leader and brainwasher that fucked with the fabric of time its self. Forgive me if I find her suddenly switching sides after a brief song number a teensy bit bullshit. What was I talking about again? Oh, fuck it.

BTW, I get that the tags have been blocked and probably for a good reason, but can some mod add the Starlight Drama tag to this one? It’s like, this is what the “Hidden Cover” for the image should probably be.
