I like JDL, but I stopped liking Discord after S3, so I really hope this is true.

Hey, remember that time de Lancie was in a big famous documentary about horse people and said he had completely forgotten that he’d even recorded lines for this “Discord” character?
 
He works on this show approximately one day a year and has a whole entire life of his own the other 364, there’s no reason to think he would even connect an afternoon’s recording session ten to twelve months ago with something called “Season 7”.

I expected whining over this.

Well, the Movie is being pitched as an entry for new people. So characters like the Mane 6 will probably have introductions or something. Casual cameos are a maybe, but it will be far more accessible than Equestria Girls was

i dunno, i’ll keep an ear open this season. generally the voice actors for shows like mlp aren’t told exactly which episode they’re doing or when it’ll air; they just get called in to do specific scenes, often spanning multiple episodes depending on who’s available. chances are he either recorded some lines and forgot about it (he’s done that before, lol) or he recorded lines but doesn’t know when they’ll air.
 
if he doesn’t have any lines at all this season that would be a bummer for me. his episodes may be hit-and-miss in my book but i can’t not like him because he’s john de lancie and who doesn’t like john de lancie?
