I too am confused. I get that no dialogue is a neat gimmick, but the story needs to be clear without it.

What is going on in the picture? She’s not allowed in unless she takes drugs?

One could easily write a fanfic about how she’s normally really low energy, so her friends took her out dancing that one day for a change of pace.  
I know, it’s lame when a fanon name requires extra justification, and I’m basically admitting defeat at this point. Still, Pacific Glow’s got a nice ring to it.

Yes, I’m well aware of that. And it fits so much better that way, because Molly’s trademark activity in the show is displaying a lack of motion. Oh, wait…

You realize that the word “pacific” refers to more than just the ocean, right? It literally means peaceful.

Which doesn’t change the fact that the word used was “Pacific,” not “Pacifier.” Pacific anything is fucking stupid for a Manehattan pony. And Pacifier wouldn’t really have worked. “Binky” something might have. Binky Sue, Binky Glow, Binky Rave, lots of possibilities that aren’t fucking stupid. Hell, Binky Pie, that would be good. It pokes fun at her alternate origin story (as a mirror pool clone) too. Molly’s good because it’s a callback to a G1 character; that Molly was young, had a predominantly pink color scheme, and had huge pigtails too, so it’s a great fit. The double entendre just made it better when I found out about it, but it was a great name for an MLP character even before that.
 
I hope she gets a canon name in the show next season so we can get rid of this shit name for good. (But even more so because it’ll mean she’ll be in the show again next season.) If she gets an official name in the show or toy line, then I’ll start using that name. Even if it turns out to be Pacific Glow, though I strongly hope not. In the meantime I’ll continue to call her Molly, because it’s a better name than Pacific Glow.

Nah, Molly’s a better name. Naming a Manehattan pony Pacific anything is stupid. It’s like naming a pony from Florida Ohio Johnson.

That’s true. I guess my thinking was, since we’re the fans, we’re not beholden to executives the way the show is, so we might as well take advantage of that by giving her a name that the show never would.  
Still, I’ll admit, as an actual pony name, Pacific Glow is objectively better.
