This meme also originated from a /pol/ Twitter account (yes, apparently they have that).
Looking at his tweets, he seems more like an attention-whore troll, then some kinda “hilarious” satirist.
Conventions sound expensive too, its easier to not leave the house.

You are correct, most do not actually suit and those that do usually only do it at cons or in there homes to take pictures. Sometimes people will go to scenic locations to take a picture of themselves in their suit but that’s usually the extent of non con public suiting.
I’m not a fursuitor, in fact, honestly they do kinda weird me out honestly, but as you said they’re not hurting anyone. Like bronies, furries seem to get a bad rap in the media.
(My SN actually comes from an old Star Fox OC of mine, which I had before I knew about the furry fandom, but I’ve never really partook in said fandom, nor ever consider myself one. Though I do respect it’s art & such. So I don’t hate ‘em. I even had some friends who were ones.)
I think most of ‘em don’t wear those publically anyways. I guess in a way, it’s no different from the cosplayers.
@Beau Skunky
Here’s my take:
If you like to wear fursuits and go to AnthroCon (which is a thing, apparently) I won’t stop you. You can enjoy whatever you’re into as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone (despite the fact that fursuits put the wearer at a higher risk of heat stroke and dehydration).
But, please, don’t wear fursuits in public when you’re not at a con. It makes thing more awkward than they already are.
Also, I know the ‘Gas the Furries’ meme is a joke, but that guy took it way too far.

At least, Ghost (a man so “conservative” he considers republicans and Sarah Palin “too liberal”) can be a good sport about bronies occasionally. There are people much worse.
Somebody told me, some asshole terrorist actually tried to gas a furry geek convention. So it wouldn’t surprise me if some would take it that far. Hell, some rabid-haters were happy about that one kid being hospitalized, after trying to commit suicide, (for being bullied for being a brony/MLP fan) just because he was a brony. Let me repeat… This was a child, they were happy to see suffering/dying…
Hell is not a good enough punishment for people that sick.
To quote Bill Gates, “If your society/country doesn’t accept nerds, you’re in big trouble.”

if you dont fit their image of dirty fedora neckbeard fursuit wearing playing with dolls fruitbowl stereotype you will upset many people.
their are factions of people just frothing at the mouth waiting for that day when the first brony mass shooter appears so they can spam it on their tumblr and mainstream media,same with gaming and rock’n’roll music.
@★Dark Star
This.
Both sides are just cancer. That’s why I hate both of them.
@Background Pony #97A5
I’m right-wing, (not something I’m proud of) so joking aside, I agree.
In fact, I see people on both sides who are major haters. Like conservatives who hate bronies for not being “normal,” or enjoying something childish, or feminine which they can’t understand ‘cause we should only like “manly/grown-up things.”
Meanwhile, liberals hate bronies for ironically the same reasons, or even accuse us of being “homophobes/sexist/racist/whatever,” because of the way some troll fans, or fake fans act online. (Honestly, if most bronies really were that stuff, they wouldn’t like MLP in the first place.)
I think both sides can be nuts.

@Cabrony
Hehe Ghost is awesome.

Looks like we might be due for a big old storm of chaos!
@Background Pony #97A5
You rang?
Grab your ponchos and caps, everypony. There’s a storm brewing on the horizon.
A tweet from the /pol/ Twitter account (yeah, they apparently have one) with a pic of a Muslim and a wildly-dressed, possibly trans woman (I honestly wasn’t sure) on the subway sitting together, minding their own business with the above text in the tweet.
