“It’s getting dark out here. You sure you don’t wanna come in? I can order pizza or something.”
 
“Nah, I’m fine. This beech is pretty tasty. From the size, I’d say it ought to last a couple of months at least.”
 
“So…you’re just going to sit there on a decaying log? For the next two months?”
 
“Maybe three. My record is a whole year–man, I found this fallen ironwood tree you could have built a house into and still have room for a barn. Me and my sisters found it and just went to town on it. That was awesome.”
 
“You have sisters? How many?”
 
“About fifty. They’re all over the place nowadays. Lots and lots of nieces and nephews, too. I see them around sometimes. We all keep in touch via air-mail.”
 
“Wait, what?”
 
“Spores, silly! Lets us catch up on forum-gossip, pass news around, what’s happening, who’s about to bud some kids, that kind of thing. Right now we’ve got this really cool play-by-mail RPG-thingie going. It’s a nice way to pass the time.”
 
“It sounds like it. You know, the pizza offer’s still open if you want it…”
 
“I WILL take a rain check on it. I’ve never had pizza before.”
 
“It’s a date, then. A couple of months off, but…eh.”

I think the only thing that’d make this better would be if her pupils contracted when the light hit her. But it’s great despite that :D Badumsquish’s creativity is a wondrous thing.
