True. I may love how Flurry is a cute little demon hellspawn, but the utter soullessness, lack of effort, and horrifying dead-face ‘expressions’ – nevermind the complete lack of story – found in Newborn Cuties makes The Exorcist look like The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

If my corrections above are accurate, yes, you are in a distinct minority.
 
WARNING: OPINION AHEAD!!!
 
If you like it, and it brings you some joy, I am honestly happy for you. But Newborn Cuties has arguably some of the worst (if not laziest) Flash animation quality to ever be associated with the My Little Pony trademark.
 
For others, I think it’s the ‘mindlessness’ of it, and seems to embody that old ‘kids will watch ANYTHING’ cliche. To me, it’s exactly the type of show Lauren Faust had in mind when she said, “girl cartoons don’t have to suck.“

Newborn cuties are available for G4 as well, so they aren’t tied to any generation. They were introduced in G3.5 and haven’t gotten any animations after that.
 
G4 did change the design of babies in the show, but the dolls haven’t changed.
