Apparently, people of different fandoms are not only attacking those within that fandom, but also others. Can’t everyone just except each others likes and dislikes and just move on? Fandoms are for enjoying a certain topic or franchise. If someone does not like a fandom, then why do they search that fandom out just to hate on it. You have every right to not like something, but why go out of your way to ruin it for others? These are FICTIONAL worlds and everyone is entitled to their own opinions (Whether it be ships, crossovers, OCs, personas, etc.).

I kinda disagree, as Disney & Don Bluth had different styles from MLP, but I get that you it looks more traditional then most modern animated movies. I really miss 2D animation. (Nothing against 3D, but it’s all we ever see movie wise now, and it’s getting old. Apparently, 3D is now cheaper then 2D, which doesn’t help.)
I suppose that modern thick outline style, with abstract shaped characters is getting a bit overdone too. The new Duck Tales has a more traditional look, mixed with modern, so there is some hope for more diversity in modern animation art styles.
I’ve seen that exact teaser! I am extremely stoked for it…at first I was worried they’d deface a classic for this crappy new decade just as Cartoon Network did to Powerpuff Girls and pull crap like making Heffer twerk or something, but when I saw it, it turned out to be the best satire of this decade I have ever seen. I personally love the way it looks. You are right, they preserved the look, feel and animation of the original perfectly despite switching to Toon Boom now. I can say the same for the upcoming MLP movie: The fact that it looks like a late-90s Disney or Don Bluth movie to me has me sold. And speaking of Disney, The Princess and the Frog was done in Toon Boom and it still felt timelessly Disney to me.
Just because a cartoon’s medium is digital, doesn’t mean you can’t still animate the way you used to, even if it is on a computer instead of on paper. At least Disney, Joe Murray and whoever’s making the MLP: FiM movie know that. I just wish every animator wasn’t trying to make their cartoons look and move like Steven Universe nowadays. SU’s style isn’t even original, they just picked up the trend from Adventure Time, Regular Show and Gravity Falls. I actually think the latter was the first to popularize the Adventure Time-derivative style, then SU did it a year later.
I guess it’s kinda hard for animation to look traditional with everything going digital nowadays.
They’re bringing back the ‘90s toon “Rocko’s Modern Life,” and surprisingly it still looks a bit smooth & ’90s-like, and looks very true to the original.
For me it’s less SJWs, and more feeling threatened by these new shows, since despite older shows like MLP: FiM and Adventure Time paving the way for the new, excellent storytelling of 2010s cartoons, the way the characters are animated in SU and other shows like Star Vs. just throws me off for some reason. And feeling threatened because a lot of former bronies are leaving the fandom to like those shows instead.
I grew up with 80s and 90s traditional animation and 2000s Flash animation. MLP and EqG are relics from a bygone era because they still use Flash puppet animation when most other shows are animated in a totally new way that isn’t traditional and isn’t Flash either.
Unfortunately, we have SJWs in our fanbase too.
I see Tumblrinas who are always preaching about how “evil” bronies are, yet, are also fans of MLP/bronies/pegasisters/whatever themselves, and do all the same things they hate bronies for doing, and like the same show they do.
I’m coming close to shaming other fans for liking Undertale and Steven Universe myself. Am I a terrible person for that?
Dem newfangled SJW series are making y’all forget all about good old-fashioned ponies and EqG.
Indeed… Somebody here used to give me crap just for being a “Sonic fan.”
(That’s right, a MLP-fan was ironically trying to shame me for liking Sanik.)
I like only 4 of these series, so I’m only mediocre nerd. (Though, I’ve been wanting to give Undertale, Minecraft, and Freddy’s a shot some day.)
