You can explain away the actions of a lot of characters by saying they were “under extreme duress”. Sunset had her mentor disown, impair, and exile her, Trixie had her livelihood destroyed and name turned to mud, Starlight had her year’s-long project of saving Equestria from the evils of infantile-predestination turned to ash…

Um, forgot Lesson Zero? “I will brainwash whole village into mindless zombies so I can write interesting letter”? It’s about time? “I will stop time FOREVER effectively killing everyone so some unclear future accident doesn’t happen”? Too many Pinkie Pies? “I will ruthlessly kill clones of my friend, even despite knowing the disintegration ray works on real Pinkie too, and the test is impossibly hard for Pinkie”? That one episode where Twilight blindly nearly destroys Fluttershy turning her into bat-pony mutant with ill though spell, then, having learned nothing, does the same thing on all FIVE of her friends by blindly casting Starswirl’s spell without any thinking or safeguards? What if she didn’t lucked into solution and bat transformation/mark swap was permanent?
 
Please, Twilight did just about as much dodgy stuff as Sunset, Trixie and Starlight (with Rarity and Flurry Heart valiant attempts thrown into the mix for good measure too) COMBINED, and only didn’t suffer the consequences because of her protagonist status and lucking into solutions before it was too late, and even then, if anyone else did it, I doubt Celestia would be so lenient as in Lesson Zero one…

Sounds like something pertaining to Twilight, but supposedly, the reasons Twilight studied magic don’t include the mishandling of it, like with Sunset, Trixie, or Starlight, or Rarity that one time unintentionally. So, he probably meant it as a euphemism, not literally. <w<

Seeing Starlight is VASTLY more interesting character than 4/6 of M6, please, most of the show fans would be pleased with her having more, not less time. We finally see what a talented unicorn who wasn’t spoon fed plot items and forbidden knowledge her whole life can do, if you prefer “muh appuls” or “I forgot last 16 episodes of character development, AGAIN” perhaps watch Hannah Montana or something instead?
 
I say it as someone who likes M6, but most of their plot arcs have gotten so stale or went nowhere it’s best to move on and don’t waste any more time/episodes on them, role of supporting characters is best they can do now…

god fine, I’m sorry I said “we” I wouldn’t even really mind other side just will the show quit shoving Glimmer down my throat. all of their attempts to make her more “likable” just my me dislike her even more.  
I was mostly over her rushed redemption then she Mind Controlled most of the main cast. and then they had her team up with two of the fan favorite characters to go rescue all the main characters and the princess. from one the most popular remaining villains, in a story straight out of someone’s horrible self-insert fan-fic!
