Not quite. The pharyngeal jaws are attached by tendons to the primary jaws so that they move forward automatically when the mouth is opened. The moray can’t control them directly because there are no motor neurons, which only muscles have.
They’re probably only eels in a colloquial sense seeing as they’re giant & live in caves or something.
I mentioned that, at which point i also noted that these eels probably don’t have them.
Another case of real life being more horrific than the imagination.
