If you want consonance with “grape” (Because purple mane and Earth ponies typically grow stuff), here’s a bunch of g- adjectives adverbs. Okay, well, they’re adverbs, but, most of them are pretty easy to turn to adjectives, and “adjective noun” or “noun adjective” is a pretty common pony name-theme. Pinkie Pie is one. Twilight Sparkle could even be one if you think of “Twilight” as specifying the type of “Sparkle”. Rainbow Dash - again, “Rainbow” specifies the type of “Dash”, perhaps? :q

And btw guys, I’ve tried to leave this character as open as possible, with no definite traits. That way, it leaves it all up to your imagination!  
So when I say he, it could actually be a she, the muzzle occurs mostly in mares. She could just not have eyelashes lol.  
Also, because of the wonderful pose, you can’t see the cutie-mark, and he/she could be a unicorn or a pegasus! With the bulky hair and their back away from you, this character could be an ALICORN for ponies sake.  
Although, I’d have to say all of those are really improbable, the horn would have to be tiny and so would the wings. I’d say it’s probably a dude, earth pony, something like that. Personality would be fun, enthusiastic, kinda like Pinkie but a tiny bit more mellow maybe

I have no idea either way. But if you listen to his voice and look at his face, he sounds and looks a bit enthusiastic… His ears are perked almost curiously, and he looks happy! His eyes are wide and hopeful, (but he’s not begging). He looks trustful, like he knows you won’t tease or make fun of him, and if you do it’ll just be for a good laugh! (like big mclarghuge lol)  
Details like this aren’t absent, you just have to find them lol :D  
And P.s. I definitely didn’t just come up with this just now… ;P

As far as gender goes, I would only assume it’s a stallion because he has no eyelashes, and I’d say he’s around the same age as everyone else in ponyville XD
